The Theory That Was Never in My Textbooks
Not because I was afraid-
but because nothing I had ever seen convinced me it was real.
I trusted science.
Things that could be measured.
Pulse rates.
Radiographs.
Forces.
Formulas.
The certainty that every cause had an effect.
Then you happened.
Not all at once.
Not like lightning.
More like sunrise-
so slow that I never noticed the darkness leaving.
You were my safest conversation before you became my favorite silence.
My best friend before my heart quietly rewrote your name into every future I could imagine.
And somehow...
the world began changing around me.
The sky looked softer.
Songs sounded like they knew something I didn't.
Even ordinary evenings felt like they were holding tiny secrets.
I still can't explain it.
Maybe that's because not every truth fits inside an equation.
In physics, they say gravity is invisible.
No one has ever seen it-
only everything it moves.
Maybe that's what this is.
An unseen force that keeps pulling my thoughts back to you,
no matter how rational I try to remain.
As a dentist, I've learned that the strongest structures aren't built overnight.
Enamel forms layer by layer.
Bone heals quietly, beneath the surface, long before anyone notices.
Maybe hearts work the same way.
Maybe they don't fall.
Maybe they grow-
microscopically,
patiently,
until one ordinary day you realize someone has become part of the way you breathe, laugh, think... and simply exist.
The strangest part is that nothing dramatic happened.
You just understood me.
You remembered the little things.
You made silence feel comfortable instead of empty.
You listened without trying to fix me.
You stayed.
And somewhere between those ordinary moments...
my entire universe changed.
I used to think life was beautiful because of sunsets, rain, books, and stars.
Now they all seem beautiful because, somehow,
they remind me of you.
It's the first time I've wanted time to move slowly,
just so I can stay inside this feeling a little longer.
No chaos.
No rush.
Just this quiet certainty that the world feels lighter when you're in it.
If someone asked me when it began,
I wouldn't know the answer.
Because this wasn't one moment.
It was a thousand tiny moments that quietly found each other...
until one day I looked at you-
and realized I had become living proof that even the strongest skeptics can become believers.
Some theories aren't discovered in laboratories.
They're discovered in the gentle way one person makes everything around another feel impossibly, beautifully alive.
